How it Starts:
With tees. We began t-shirt production in 2018 with two goals in mind: make it right and give it soul. We wanted our tees to be made with the highest ethical and sustainable practices, but still feel core. We didn’t want to be another “sustainable company,” we wanted to make clothes that people could connect with and that felt authentic to us and where we come from.
From our initial batches, the t-shirts took off, the line has been expanded and the line has been refined, but that is still our mission today: building the best products in the best way.
Reece:
Hey, I’m Reece. I’m the founder and operator of Symmetry Manufacturing. I’m from Oceanside, CA where I grew up surfing, skating, and playing sports. I went to college on a combo athletic/music scholarship and upon graduating went to work at one of New York’s major recording studios as an in-house engineer and producer.
It was during my time in the music industry that the first spark for Symmetry ignited. I started creating t-shirts – essentially an early version of our Origin Tee – and the stoke from both friends and clients was pretty much immediate. Actually, one of the first tees I gave out was to J Cole. The growing interest in the brand eventually led me to shift my focus entirely from music to apparel.
When the pandemic brought me back to Hawaii to be closer to family, I had the space to fully re-envision Symmetry. I began to draw inspiration from the companies I admired most, carefully selecting elements that resonated with my vision to build a company I’m deeply proud of and, above all, one that remains authentically itself.
